Running payroll across seven regions: a practical guide
Peovix · September 27, 2026
Buying “global payroll” usually means buying a slogan. Tax, social insurance, and filing rules do not collapse into one converter with a country dropdown. A useful system tells you which calculations exist today, which files you can download, and which government submissions you still do yourself.
Peovix runs seven regional engines on one preview, approve, and publish calendar: Nepal, India, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates. They share the operational path. They do not share a single tax formula, and they are not equal in depth. Nepal is the deepest labor-adjacent pack. The United States is federal-only. Singapore’s income-tax line is a monthly provision. UAE gratuity is a worksheet estimate.
What “one calendar” actually means
HR and finance open a period, review pay changes and leave impact, calculate, adjust exceptions, approve, and publish payslips. Employees open those slips in self-service. Published figures are protected from a silent overwrite. That sequence is the same in every supported region. The calculator behind the period is not.
Operational statutory CSVs ship for all seven regions. Production government e-file does not. Form 24Q FVU, HMRC FPS XML, and W-2 e-file are not claimed as shipped. If your close depends on a lodged file, plan that step outside Peovix and use the CSV as the finance handoff. Label that handoff in the runbook so a new payroll owner does not discover it during the first live close.
Nepal
Nepal is the deepest engine. It covers progressive slabs, SSF, CIT, festival bonus, service-contract TDS, and settlement extras. Teams that run Nepal plus other countries should not assume the other engines copied this pack. Read the Nepal payroll page before you treat every country as the same product.
India
India calculates TDS slabs, PF employee and employer, ESI, and state-aware professional tax. Finance can download a Form 24Q (Annexure II) operational CSV. That file is not an FVU e-file. Details are on the India payroll page.
United States
US payroll is a federal-only estimate: hourly and salary, FICA, and federal brackets by filing status. You can download an operational W-2 summary and a Form 941 CSV. Multi-state and local withholding are not included, and W-2 e-file is not shipped. If you have employees in several states, do not buy this engine for state withholding. See US payroll.
United Kingdom
The UK engine runs PAYE through tax codes (1257L, BR, D0, D1, and NT) and calculates employee and employer National Insurance. The HMRC output is an FPS summary CSV, not FPS XML submitted to HMRC. See UK payroll.
Australia
Australia includes PAYG brackets, the Medicare levy, and Super Guarantee, plus PAYG and Super operational CSVs. This is not Single Touch Payroll lodging. See Australia payroll.
Singapore
Singapore calculates CPF by age-tier bands and a monthly IRAS tax provision. The tax figure is a provision, not true monthly withholding, and Peovix does not file with IRAS. A CPF schedule CSV is available for finance. See Singapore payroll.
United Arab Emirates
UAE payroll treats income tax as 0%, accrues gratuity as a worksheet estimate, includes an EOSB settlement worksheet, and can produce a WPS salary file CSV. Gratuity is not a legal determination, and the WPS file is not submitted for you. See UAE payroll.
A practical rollout order
Import the employee record first. Payroll reads location, compensation, and leave from that record, so a clean directory beats a perfect tax setting on day one. Turn on the engines you will actually run, document the footnote for US, Singapore, and UAE in the governance pack, and run one parallel period against the spreadsheet you trust. Publish only after finance signs the exceptions.
Keep the first cycle small. One legal entity, one pay frequency, and the countries already in production. Add the next country after the review calendar is familiar, not in the same week you turn on SSO and recruiting. Compensation planning, if you need merit pools and stock grants, is a later Enterprise workspace. It applies into payroll. It is not required to run the first payslip.
How to evaluate a payroll shortlist
Start with the countries you pay this quarter, not the countries on a roadmap slide. For each one, ask three questions. What is calculated? What file can finance download? What filing stays manual? Write the answers into the rollout plan so local HR and finance see the same footnotes.
Then look at the shared work, not only the statute. Can you preview before publish? Do employees get the slip in the same portal they use for leave? Can an approved compensation change apply into the next run with a trail? Those questions are why payroll sits next to Core HR, leave, and compensation planning instead of in a separate vendor.
If you operate in more than one of these seven countries, the multi-country payroll use case describes the operating pattern: one calendar, documented maturity, and a parallel check before cutover. The payroll feature page is the full matrix. Country pages are the pages to send a local lead.
What to ignore in a demo
Ignore a logo wall of flags if the vendor will not say which withholding is missing. Ignore “supported” if it does not distinguish a calculator from an e-file. Ignore a single blended tax rate that claims to cover Nepal and the United States with the same engine. Peovix would rather label a limit than rent a flag.
Bring your country list to a trial or a demo. The useful next step is a mapping of engine depth, not a promise of global parity. Ask who owns the exception list, who publishes the slip, and which file finance will still upload by hand. Those three answers tell you whether the engine is ready for this quarter. Write them next to the country page you send the local lead, so the demo and the public page say the same thing.
